Mojo, refers to some type of power or magic.

A mojo is like an amulet, charm, or talisman. They are meant to provide specific luck or protection. They usually consist of a flannel bag, red generally meant for love or sex. Here's mine, which I had made by a woman when I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

Mojo is either a magical force in Hoodoo, or a charm that creates this force.

Mojos are frequently small cloth bags with sand, shells, ashes, minerals, and other meaningful items.

The previous answerers have it. According to the Austin Powers movies, 'Mojo' is specifically his libido. Having "Mowjoe Baybee!" means having sexual prowess and potency. You can buy 'Mojo Oil' (112 different kinds) at www.13moons.com. Here's one I like: JB Lenoir- "Mojo Boogie" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_0DleN6Rp0

Well, literally in hoodoo culture it's a magical charm or talisman someone takes with them to bring good luck or...uh, sexual power. It's like a spritistic little blue pill, really!

I mean...assuming that's what you're talking about?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I happen to know a very talented blues harpist here in SA,and he carries the John The Conqueror root on a necklace. He told me he always carries his mojo with him(the necklace)and that all blues musicians carry one.Is this what Muddy Waters is referring to in his song?

The best hoodoo specialist on this planet is cat yronwode (no caps, by her own request)

http://www.luckymojo.com/

from this page you can look for her "Hoodoo in therory and practice", or her research regarding hoodoo in blues lyrics, tales about R.J., etc. I do not share her esoteric views, but she is a very nice person, and whatever she unearthed is fascinating.

these answers are OK, but some miss the point a bit as far as the Blues section. Mojo loosely means your balls, not really literally but as far as your personal guts, attitude, strength, confidence etc that blend together to create your own sense of power or mystique. So 'I got my mojo workin' can refer to the fact that you feel strong and vital, and know that the world (and the girls) can sense it.
