Hi Johnny,

The late Bo Diddley was a fantastic performer in concert. I think the best live Bo Diddley album that is currently available is probably "Bo Diddley's Beach Party" (Geffen Records). It was recorded live in concert in Myrtle Beach, SC in July 1963, with Bo Diddley backed by his band that included Duchess on guitar and Jerome Green on maracas. It rocks! Tracks include "Bo Diddley's A Gunslinger", "Hey Bo Diddley", "Crackin' Up", "Road Runner" and more. There's info about the album over at the Official Bo Diddley iTunes Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/bo-diddley/id95671

Unfortunately, some of the live albums that you have listed here are unauthorised, or were recorded at the time without Bo Diddley's consent, which means that his estate don't always receive their dues. Any Bo Diddley recordings which are marketed by Universal Music Group Recordings (UMG) or by Geffen Records, mean that they are authorised and legitimate.

@13Across - "The London Bo Diddley Sessions", which you mentioned, is a 1973 studio album, recorded in studios in London, England and in Chicago, IL.

I don't know any of those; the only live Bo Diddley album I have is The London Sessions, which I've always found a touch disappointing.

Anyway, this is a good opportunity to introduce anyone who doesn't know it to the true&only story

There's a story there.
